- Chloromethane - ClCH3:
In this molecule the three hydrogens are symmetrically arranged about a line drawn though the line-of-centers of the carbon and chlorine atoms i.e, a C3 axis.
There are also three sv planes containing the chlorine, the carbon, and one of the hydrogen's - these planes also contain the C3 axis.Chloromethane's Symmetry Elements are:
